A work of art in and of itself, Dolmabahce Sanat Galerisi is housed in a former royal residence with an impressive facade overlooking the Bosphorus. The art gallery houses over 200 paintings of both Turkish and international artists from the 19th century. Noteworthy artists include Seker Ahmed Pasha, Osman Hamdi Bey, Huseyin Zekai Pasha, and Hoca Ali Rıza. The collection also includes works by the official court painters commissioned by the sultans of the Ottoman Empire. For travelers who use our world travel planner, Istanbul holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Dolmabahce Sanat Galerisi and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.
