This elaborate subterranean complex dates back to about the 7th century BCE and has been used as a refuge from raiders and invaders even in modern times. It descends eight floors and includes a church and a school, together with living quarters, stables, storage rooms, and manufacturing facilities. You can also see the ingenious air and water supply systems. The chambers and passageways are well-lit, but often narrow and with low ceilings, so anyone suffering from claustrophobia might experience discomfort.     We went there in march it's a 1 hour ride from goreme it's a unique experience how people used to live underground it's has 6 floors pathways are very small and narrow you have to bend down to cross.....  more »

    This seems to be a more established underground city in the area: well-defined paths with what felt like sterilized spaces. Seemed less interesting than Kaymakli underground city, but also less...  more »

    This place is great to visit. I would highly recommend to anyone; there is some issues people with breathing problems cannot go to far down. Discovered some of their old engineering and war strategies. Can you believe people survived so long down here??
