Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Get some cultural insight at Colosseum and Catacombs of Saint Callixtus. Take a break from the city and head to Colle del Gianicolo and Isola Tiberina. Strasbourg is famous for its beautiful historical center, the Grande Île, which was the first city center classified entirely as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Strasbourg is one of the nine largest cities in France with nearly half a million inhabitants in the metropolitan area crossing the river to the German city of Kehl, on the eastern bank of the Rhine River.
Start off your visit on the 31st (Mon): wander the streets of La Petite France, then examine the collection at Palais de Rohan, then make a trip to Cathedrale Notre Dame de Strasbourg, and finally admire the masterpieces at Musée des Beaux-Arts de Strasbourg.
