Beirut

— 7 nights

Paris of the East

Sitting on the Mediterranean coast, Beirut, the country's capital and largest city, has plenty of appeal itself, as well as offering a convenient base for exploring the country's other sights and cities.
Explore Beirut's surroundings by going to Temples of Baalbek (in Baalbeck), Byblos (Byblos Castle, Saint Charbel Tomb, &more) and Our Lady of Lebanon (in Harissa). Next up on the itinerary: appreciate the history behind Jeita Grotto, take an in-depth tour of National Museum of Beirut, take in the spiritual surroundings of Mohammad Al-Amin Mosque, and examine the collection at Mim Museum - Mineral Museum.

To find maps, more things to do, ratings, and other tourist information, use the Beirut trip planning website.

If you are flying in from Egypt, the closest major aiport is Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport. In September in Beirut, expect temperatures between 36°C during the day and 28°C at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 27th (Fri) so you can travel back home.
