Eternal City

Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Go for a jaunt from Rome to Tivoli to see Villa d'Este about 48 minutes away. There's much more to do: contemplate the long history of Palatine Hill, delve into the distant past at Colosseum, explore the world behind art at Vatican Museums, and pause for some serene contemplation at St. Peter's Basilica.

Cap off your sightseeing on the 7th (Sun) early enough to travel back home.
