More than 20 million people call Cairo their home and, as soon as you set foot in the sprawling metropolis, it's evident they make it crowded and chaotic, but also exuberant and charming.
The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities and Coptic Cairo are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Head to Khan Al-Khalili and Ramses Wissa Wassef Art Centrefor plenty of shopping. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Cairo: Giza (Pyramids of Giza, Great Sphinx, &more) and Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids (in Saqqara). And it doesn't end there: wander the streets of Islamic Cairo, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Mosque and Madrasa of Sultan Hassan, admire the masterpieces at The Coptic Museum, and admire the striking features of Cairo Citadel.

Saint Catherine

Visitors flock to the town of Saint Catherine, nestled in the foothills of Mount Sinai, to explore the World Heritage Area's numerous religious and historic sights.
