Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Discover out-of-the-way places like Trastevere and Food Tours. Vatican Museums and Palatine Hill will appeal to history buffs. Cairo, Egypt to Rome is an approximately 7-hour flight. You can also drive. You'll gain 1 hour traveling from Cairo to Rome due to the time zone difference. In August, Rome is slightly colder than Cairo - with highs of 38°C and lows of 24°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 7th (Tue) to allow enough time to travel to Venice.
