Known for its medieval enamels on copper (Limoges enamels), its 19th-century porcelain (Limoges porcelain), and for its oak barrels used for Cognac production, Limoges has a creative flair with historic significance.
Escape the urban bustle at Golf de la Porcelaine and Abbaye de Brantome. Get some cultural insight at Chateau de Bourdeilles and Chateau de Hautefort. Go for a jaunt from Limoges to Perigueux to see Grotte de Tourtoirac about 1h 20 min away. There's still lots to do: steep yourself in history at Oradour-sur-Glane and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Cathedrale St-Etienne.

If you are flying in from United Kingdom, the closest major airports are Limoges Airport, Bergerac-Roumanière Airport and Tours-Val-de-Loire Airport. Expect a daytime high around 17°C in April, and nighttime lows around 7°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 27th (Fri) to allow enough time to travel back home.
