Often referred to as "The Paris of the North," Riga offers thriving nightlife and some of the best collections of Art Nouveau architecture in Europe.
Get some historical perspective at Turaida Castle and Cesis Medieval Castle. Get some cultural insight at KGB Building and Musee Art Nouveau. Venture out of the city with trips to Saulkrasti Beach (in Saulkrasti), Ieriku Dzirnavas (in Amata) and Rundāle Palace (in Pilsrundale). There's much more to do: take a peaceful walk through Dzintari Forest Park, admire the landmark architecture of JJugenda Stila Nami, Riga, soothe aching muscles at some of the top local wellness centers, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Nativity of Christ Cathedral.
