Often referred to as "The Paris of the North," Riga offers thriving nightlife and some of the best collections of Art Nouveau architecture in Europe.
Escape the urban bustle at Ieriku Dzirnavas and Saulkrasti Beach. Cesis Medieval Castle and Rundāle Palace are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Step out of Riga to go to Sigulda and see Turaida Castle, which is approximately 1h 10 min away. There's still lots to do: contemplate the long history of Latvian Ethnographic Open Air Museum, examine the collection at Musee Art Nouveau, admire the landmark architecture of Alberta Iela, and relax and rejuvenate at some of the top local wellness centers.

Glasgow, UK to Riga is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus and flight; or take a bus. The time zone difference moving from Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) to Eastern European Time (EET) is 2 hours.
