Trabzon, historically known as Trebizond is a city on the Black Sea coast of northeastern Turkey and the capital of Trabzon Province. Take a break from Trabzon with a short trip to Tomara Selalesi Tabiat Parki in Gumushane, about 1h 40 min away. There's still lots to do: examine the collection at Trabzon Hagia Sophia Museum, contemplate the long history of Atatürk Köşkü, take in the spiritual surroundings of Gulbahar Hatun Cami, and take some stellar pictures from Soumela Monastery.

Cairo, Egypt to Trabzon is an approximately 13-hour flight. The time zone changes from Eastern European Standard Time (EET) to Turkey Time (TRT), which is usually a 1 hour difference.
