Virtually unchanged for the last six centuries, Venice is actually a group of islands made famous by a series of canals, bridges, monuments, piazzas, and narrow pedestrian lanes.
On the 9th (Thu), contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Scuola Grande di San Rocco and then explore the activities along Canal Grande. On your second day here, admire the landmark architecture of Basilica di San Marco, take in the views from Ponte dei Sospiri, then contemplate the long history of Doge's Palace, and finally appreciate the extensive heritage of Piazza San Marco.

Tirana, Albania to Venice is an approximately 7- hour combination of flight and train. You can also fly; or drive. When traveling from Tirana in August, plan for slightly colder days and about the same nights in Venice: temperatures range from 34°C by day to 22°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 11th (Sat) early enough to take a bus to Verona.

The famous setting for Shakespeare's star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet, Verona is one of northern Italy's main tourist destinations, largely owing to its incredibly rich artistic heritage.
Start off your visit on the 12th (Sun): explore the historical opulence of Museo di Castelvecchio, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Basilica di San Zeno Maggiore, then experience the emotional art of opera at Arena di Verona, and finally make a trip to Piazza Bra.

Portoferraio is a town and comune in the province of Livorno, on the edge of the eponymous harbour of the island of Elba. We've included these beaches for you: Spiaggia di Cavoli and Spiaggia di Capo Bianco. Get in touch with nature at Spiaggia di Fetovaia and Spiaggia Canata. There's still lots to do: see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour and kick back and relax at Spiaggia di Seccione.
