Livingstone

— 3 nights
Tourism in Livingstone, a town nestled on the Zimbabwean border, thrives largely thanks to the nearby Victoria Falls.
Visiting Victoria Falls and Kayaking & Canoeing will get you outdoors. There's still lots to do: relax and float downstream with a rafting and tubing tour, stroll through Livingstone Crocodile Park, explore and take pictures at Mukuni Village, and take an exotic tour of a safari tour.

For reviews, ratings, other places to visit, and other tourist information, use the Livingstone online sightseeing planner.

Cairo, Egypt to Livingstone is an approximately 15.5-hour flight. You can also drive. Traveling from Cairo in September, expect Livingstone to be slightly colder, temps between 32°C and 20°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 24th (Mon) early enough to catch the flight to Lusaka.

Lusaka

— 5 nights
Tourism in Lusaka, Zambia's commercial and government center, thrives mostly due to its central location and well-connected airport, making it a gateway for exploring the country's numerous nature reserves and national parks.
Take a break from the city and head to Chaminuka Game Reserve and Lower Zambezi National Park. Venture out of the city with trips to Kapishya Hot Springs (in North Luangwa National Park) and Munda Wanga Environmental Park (in Chilanga). And it doesn't end there: head outdoors with The Lilayi Elephant Nursery, browse the eclectic array of goods at Sunday Crafts Market, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Cathedral of The Holy Cross Lusaka, and stroll through Kalimba Reptile Park.

Landlocked Zambia remains best known, a little counter intuitively perhaps, for its bodies of water. Three large rivers run through the country, with most of the big urban areas and smaller settlements sticking close to waterways and the valleys they've cut over millennia. Holidays in Zambia are adventurous affairs, with real planning required to get the most out of the country--foreign visitors find the infrastructure lacking and familiar comforts practically nonexistent. Traditional villages remain the most culturally rewarding places to visit in Zambia, while superlative natural features include animal-rich national parks and picturesque waterfalls.
