Founded by a painter and developed by a fashion designer, Jardin Majorelle is a 4.8 hectare (12 acre) site in which nature and art intertwine. A striking blue villa sits at the heart of the botanical garden, filled with numerous water features and over 300 plant species from around the world. Developed over a period of 40 years by the painter Jacques Majorelle, and bought in 1980 by designer Yves Saint-Laurent, the garden includes a museum of Islamic art. Within the spacious landscaped grounds, you can visit the Berber Museum with interesting examples of art and culture of this people, very illustrative of the past and present of Morocco. ESSENTIAL! A few metres, the Museum, Yves Saint Laurent, complete the day.
Un bon moment de détente dans un jardin magnifique Agréable le matin car pas beaucoup de monde Taxi 30D depuis la grande place more »A good time to relax in a nice beautiful garden in the morning because not many people Taxi 30 d since the great place
Absolutely beautiful. Worth a visit. Definitely suggest going early to beat the crowds. Such a serene place is better enjoyed with less people around. We also paid the 30 dirham more to enter the Berber museum and I'm glad we did. This small, but well-executed, museum was a nice way to still get a historical background of Morocco without spending hours in a large museum. (Couldn't take photos in the museum)
I don’t really get what the fuss is about. If you like cacti then you’ll love. It’s a nice enough garden to wander in for 30 minutes... and you will spend 30 minutes lining up to get an over priced ticket. I felt better when I read that proceeds go to a charity that supports cultural development
