Christ's Resurrection Church, Kaunas

#7 of 18 in Historic Sites in Kaunas
Religious Site · Tourist Spot
Though the concept for Christ's Resurrection Church arose in 1918, low funds, Nazi occupation, and Soviet rule meant that this church was not completed until 2005. The modern interior features clean lines and its large roof terrace offers some of the best views of the city. You can take the elevator or save some money by taking the stairs. Already tall in itself, the church sits on top of Kaunas's Green Hill, granting visitors far-reaching panoramic vistas. • The church is modern, and every sound is amplified so be very quiet when you enter. You can take the elevator to the roof of the church for a wonderful view of the city. Breathtaking!
  • The views up there were great! Really impressive huge church. And its right next to the funicular which was also nice.
