Look over the rooftops of Rome at Colle del Gianicolo, set on a hill that extends all the way to the Basilica of St. Peter. You'll be high enough to see the major monuments and smaller side streets. Every day at noon a single cannon announces midday from the hill. For a preview of your visit, watch the opening scene of the film "The Great Beauty," which shows the attraction in all its glory. • Definitely a nice Roman walk, especially when you arrive on the top you can enjoy the beautiful views that range from the center to the Roman castles until, on clear days, the Apennines. Unfortunately it is Unfortunate that in some places there is a lot of dirt that almost prevents the views from the terraces. The Hill is dedicated to the God Giano, an important Roman deity, and is not part of the traditional seven Roman hills. Do not miss even some monuments, such as the beautiful Fontanone and the church of San Pietro in Montorio If This review you liked, you can read my other on Rome (and not only) and I'm glad a click on: Is it Useful? • Great view of Rome from the Hill, the most beautiful view of Rome for me!!!! You believe in nature, a quiet place, far from the hustle and bustle of the city. It's good after hours of sightseeing in the city!
