  • Climb the stairs to the first floor you can not be impressed by this huge canvas painted by Ernesto Treccani between 1969 and 1975. Treccani, shocked by the bombing of Piazza Fontana, which took place on 12 December 1969 in Milan in the National Bank of Agriculture, decides to attend the funeral of the seventeen victims. Mangled by the incident, imagine this work, in which we see the crowd that assists astonished at the funerals, portrayed from the point of view of the coffins and therefore of the dead. The painting that shows hundreds of faces crammed and compressed, that with desperate eyes look in the direction of the Observer, took years to the artist to be completed. His notes kept in the archive say that he chose to portray in the painting all the faces of people he knew in person: relatives, friends, acquaintances and party companions from every part of Italy. Among the crowds it is possible to identify at least two self-portraits of Treccani, easily recognizable because it wears its inevitable blue Basque.

  • Ernesto Treccani "working every day," The current Foundation has sponsored an exhibition of Ernesto Treccani entitled "work every day. Drawings by Ernesto Treccani ". The exhibition curated by Nicoletta Colombo and Maddalena Muzio Tan has about 200 small, medium and large cards, made in pencil, ink, crayons and colored inks, most of them unpublished works that trace the artist's life. A journey undertaken in seventy years of passionate and tireless research. The design for Tan constituted an essential daily exercise. Showcasing the projecting an unpublished interview to the painter: "I do not consider the Bill an approximation than the more" finished "or a preparation for the painting. A drawing can intrude into painting, can be recovered with other materials that are not pen, ink, pencil, not his character is minor or incomplete compared to painting. Each design is unique and in itself. (E. Tan from drawing lessons, 1985). ". From an early age Ernesto Treccani "breathe" in home environment a certain atmosphere of great culture, his father and founder of the famous encyclopedia, still very young, while engaged in university studies in engineering, he felt the lure bully for painting warning in this artistic expression in the way most suited to express his innermost feelings that propagated to the political arena. Logical consequence, becomes part of the progressive groups of the art world who were not afraid to express their dissent against the "prepackaged" fascist culture. Logical consequence of his thought he wanted absolutely free from constraints of all kinds of radicalism, denial of fantasy and a real vision of nature, lavish or painfully cruel, never yielding to massimalismi, to compliant scenarios much flashy as WISPs and deceptive.
