  • Beautiful façade encrusted with Carrara marble and prato green marble. Beautiful ceiling, 13th century pavement. Very beautiful mosaic. When going up or down, don't miss the exceptional view of Florence from the Michelangelo Piazzale.

  • I went during the beautiful visit to Pizzale Michelangelo. On the outside I'm honest it didn't hit me so much to say: "ok let's go in", but by now, we were already there. Still doubtful, I raise my head and immediately notice that the part facing the altar was of a unique beauty: the apsie contented mosaic is one of the most beautiful ever seen. The floor dates back to about the beginning of 1200, of a unique historicity then. The crypt, on the other hand, was nothing exciting, except for the vaults and the flooring. The explanations inside the basilica are non-existent, it almost seems that you do not want to insert insidethe tourist attractions of the city. Perhaps also for this reason that holds the title of minor basilica, they do not have all the wrongs compared to what is in the city. But still the tourism is quite affluent, coming from Michelangelo square. If there was no forecourt, in my opinion, the church would remain deserted except for the mass hours.

  • If you're in Florence and decide to visit Piazza of Michelangelo, make the extra 5 minute walk to this church. The views overlooking the city of Florence are spectacular and possibly better than the Duomo's view. The church is gorgeous as well.
  • Very nice site to see. And views of Florence from here are great too. Make sure you look up the hours as they close in middle of day for a few hours.
