While it offers excellent views of the city, Szechenyi Lanchid serves as a historic landmark itself: It's the first bridge to span the Danube River in Hungary. Built by English engineer William Tierney in 1849, this structure connects the east and west side of Hungary's capital city. The bridge features two road lanes, plus a pedestrian zone for those traveling on foot. Cross this well-known symbol of Budapest, marvel at its stone structure, and compare both sides of the city. Visit Széchenyi Square on the Pest side of the bridge, or head up to the Castle Hill on the Buda side. Szechenyi Lanchid reviews
Seems like an interesting bridge but right now and until 2023 it is under renovation. So, it's not possible to walk on it and parts of the bridge are covered with various panels. more »
Fantastic bridge, while we are in Budapest we saw it a few times. Renovation is ongoing. We will go back to see when it is done. more »
When I think about Budapest, one of the things which comes to mind is Chain Bridge. It's the beauty of Budapest city. One of the most amazing bridge in Budapest at Danube river. Unique structure and Unique history. Full of tourists day time especially the evening.
Charming, Awesome, Gorgeous .. no words to express the beauty of the bridge especially in night ,fully illuminated with lights ,looks just like a diamond necklace on the city of Budapest. This is an old bridge which connects the cities of Buda and Pest .It is across Danube river . Architecture is simply superb and to be appreciated .Statue of lion on both sides is also nice to watch .Very nice place to sit and relax .Must visit place if you go to Budapest 👍💪💪
