Located in a former Beaux Arts railway station that was constructed around 1900, Musee d'Orsay features the largest collection of impressionist masterpieces in the world. The majority of the exhibits are French art that dates from 1848 to 1915, including photographs, paintings, furniture, and sculptures. • This is the most amazing gallery of art and sculpture. Allow as much time as possible in your schedule. If you travel by eurostar you can get 2 for 1 tickets. Wear comfortable shoes, and ENJOY.  more »
  • There was a long queue to get through security, bit that was expected. The audio guide provided lots of interesting facts. Lots of seating so you can sit and admire the art without being rushed.  more »

  • Beautiful art in a beautiful building, which used to be a train station. Entry for EU citizens under 26 is free, like all state museums, which is amazing. It's very well-visited, but still better than the Louvre I think. The cafe on the top floor is also cool, we got to sit right behind the huge clock, which has a glass face so you can see outside (there's another one on that floor, if you don't want to visit the cafe). Also don't miss the beautiful Klimt piece in the art nouveau section, no one was there!
  • Absolutely love this museum. The building itself is beautiful, and the art collection is amazing. My personal favorite is the top floor. They have quite a collection of impressionist paintings and the large clock is absolutely stunning. The main restaurant on the second floor had tasty food, reasonable prices, and a beautiful dining hall.
