Cardinal de Richelieu, the prime minister for King Louis XIII, commissioned the construction of the palace surrounding Jardin du Palais Royal in 1629. These gardens, enclosed within the walls of the palace, were first opened to the public in the 18th century. There are numerous restaurants inside the gardens, including famous Le Grand Véfour. Seek out the controversial modern art piece Colonnes de Buren, installed within the interior courtyard. May or may not have came here because it was a shooting location in Mission Impossible: Fallout. That doesn't mean it detracts from the beauty and peace found in this garden. Definitely pay this place a visit while in Paris. You won't regret it.
Beautiful garden where you can sit quietly and enjoy the view of water fountain, tree lines and flowers. Or stroll and enjoy window-shopping the small unique shops and high-end boutiques.
