Howard Carter House, Luxor

4.5
Former home of a famed English Egyptologist, Howard Carter House is mud-brick domed structure turned into a museum with photographs of excavations and the original surveying tools. See the office--with the original desk--and the laboratory where the archeologist and his wealthy employer Lord Carnarvon spent many years looking for "the boy king." The surrounding garden features a detailed replica of the burial chamber with the pharaoh's sarcophagus.
