Temple of Horus at Edfu, Edfu

Probably the country's best preserved ancient site, Temple of Horus at Edfu was commissioned by Ptolemy III in 237 BCE and finished almost two centuries later. The imposing temple owes its intact condition to silt and sand, which largely covered the structure until its excavation in the 19th century. Exploring the temple chambers, you'll encounter grandiose columns, detailed reliefs on the walls, and statues of Horus, the falcon god that was worshipped in the shrine. On a guided tour of the site, you'll learn more about the story of Horus, the temple's history, and the hieroglyphic inscriptions that adorn the structure. • If they do not explain it, you would never understand this, dig up this wonder and mounted piece by piece each base, every corner of it and make a perfect finish. Over by its dimensions is the 2nd most large Egypt, behind Karnak. The best of the trip.

  • Preserved in the temple during the Ptolemaic era, the status is good. The temple dedicated to Horus. Come visit in the morning aboard a cruise. A horse-drawn carriage ride in the dock. Speaking up for the first time to negotiate on the price to call is also separately said. I have 80 + 20 £ 100 to the extent that part of the show in spring

  • Huge temple, does get very crowded though. You have to take a horse carriage to get to it which is a fun experience. I suggest going with a guide to fully enjoy the temple.
  • Edfu Temple, home to the mighty Egyptian Falcon God Horus - son of Osiris God and the Goddess of Isis. Known as the God of Kings, protector of the pharaohs. Also my all-time favorite Egyptian pharaoh 😍 So-so amazed with this magnificent shrine that I had to #stopdropandyoga before the rest of the tourists arrived 😁🧘‍♂️
